Who it’s for

Built for more than the ice cream shop

Soft serve earns a strong margin from a small footprint, which is why Gelmatic machines turn up in very different businesses. These are the most common.

Friends eating soft serve cones outdoors

Ice cream and yoghurt bars

Quick service at peak times, two flavours and a twist from one machine, and frozen yoghurt on the same counter.

Cafe owner serving a soft serve dessert with coffee

Cafés, bakeries and patisseries

Add soft serve, shakes and dessert cups to a coffee and cake menu. The countertop Giotto 11 is just 300 mm wide.

Fast food meal with a shake and a soft serve dessert

Fast food and QSR

A dessert made on the spot completes the meal. Pump-fed models hold a consistent texture through the lunch and dinner rush.

Child eating a soft serve cone in the car at a service station

Service stations

An ice cream for the road gives drivers and families a reason to come inside, and a countertop model fits beside the coffee machine.

Cinema audience, where soft serve is sold at the candy bar

Cinemas

Soft serve and shakes sit naturally beside popcorn at the candy bar, served in seconds between sessions.

Cruise ship at sunset, a venue for soft serve machines

Holiday parks, resorts and cruise ships

Pool bars, kiosks and buffets, often run by seasonal staff. Touchscreen controls and preset recipes keep training short.

Canteen lunch tray with a soft serve dessert

Canteens and catering

Staff canteens and catering kitchens get a dessert that is quick to make and serve, and adds value to every tray.

Dairy farmer with fresh milk for farm-made soft serve

Dairies and farms

Turn your own milk into soft serve and frozen yoghurt at the farm gate, and sell a higher-value product to visitors.

Why Gelmatic

One activity, mastered

Gel Matic was founded in 1972 by Giambattista Guerini, who assembled the first gelato machines. The business grew quickly and in 2001 Andrea Guerini, son of the founder, joined the company. Dynamism and flexibility are now the hallmarks of a family company focused on one thing: express blending and freezing.

INCODIS 3.0 control

The Giotto range runs on a 7-inch touchscreen for programs, texture and cleaning cycles.

Gravity or pump feed

Easy and Giotto models are available gravity-fed for simplicity or pump-fed for higher overrun and output.

Two flavours plus a mix

Twin-cylinder models serve two flavours and a twist from one footprint – Giotto 21, BC Easy 2 and BV Easy 2.

Backed by Majors Group

Set-up, recipe and menu development, one-on-one monthly training and service across Australia with genuine parts.

FAQ

Gelmatic machines: your questions answered

What is the difference between Gelmatic Giotto and the Easy range?

Giotto is the premium countertop range for express gelato and soft serve, with a 7-inch INCODIS 3.0 touchscreen and four preset recipes. The Easy range is gravity-fed, comes in countertop and floor-standing models from 22 to 42 kg an hour, and is built for frozen yoghurt, soft serve and açaí.

Gravity or pump feed: which do I need?

Gravity feed is the simplest. A metering valve lets mix and air into the freezing cylinder, there are few parts to clean, and it handles mixes with small pieces of fruit. Pump feed uses a gear pump to hold a consistent texture and lets you set overrun above 100%, so you serve more portions from each litre of mix.

Does the Giotto heat-treat the mix?

Yes. Giotto models run a GTECH HT heat-treatment cycle that raises the mix to 65 °C, holds it for 30 minutes and cools it back to 4 °C. The mix stays microbiologically safe for longer, so you clean less often.

Can a Gelmatic machine make shakes and frozen cocktails?

Yes. The Giotto DR 14 is built for frozen drinks, with output of up to 66 litres an hour from a countertop machine 430 mm wide.

Which mixes can I use?

Gelmatic machines run fresh, semi-finished and UHT mixes. We supply Rubicone soft serve, frozen yoghurt and açaí mixes and set the machine up for the mix you choose.
