Carpigiani · Gelato Museum

Inside the Gelato Museum Carpigiani

Two short films, one idea: gelato is best understood by seeing how it was made, then making it yourself. Take the guided tour, then join the masterclass.

The tasting

Every session ends the same way: a spoon, a cup and a verdict on the flavours just made.

The story

Learn the craft where the machines were born

Carpigiani has built gelato machines for decades, and its Gelato Museum tells that story with the objects themselves. Visitors on the guided tour move between hand-cranked churns, old tools in glass cases and a wall of vintage gelato tins, with a guide explaining how production moved from muscle to technology.

The experience does not stop at the display cases. A live demonstration puts a tutor and a small team at a bench to make gelato from scratch, and the tasting that follows shows how a fresh batch behaves in the cup.

From the tour to the masterclass

The masterclass takes it a step further. Guests wear Gelato University aprons and caps, sit through a short lesson on a whiteboard, then prepare their own recipes with fruit such as pineapple, rockmelon and kiwi. A stick blender turns the fruit into a mix, a small batch machine freezes it, and the group scoops and tastes its own work. Each guest leaves with a diploma.

For anyone planning a gelato business, that sequence is a useful preview of the real thing: balance the mix, freeze it, serve it, and let customers decide. If you want to go deeper, see our Gelato University page, or talk to us about the machines and ingredients behind a gelato counter.
