Carpigiani Launches US Production of Batch Freezers and Soft Serve

On 1 July 2021, Carpigiani North America announced a new facility in High Point, North Carolina. It will manufacture batch freezers and soft serve machines for the American market.

What the High Point site includes

As well as production, the site holds warehousing for finished goods and parts, plus customer service, accounting, service and engineering support. Its newly opened training labs also host Frozen Dessert University classes. The facility is UL certified, and the equipment is intended for general market and chain customers in North and Central America.

Why Carpigiani invested

Penny Klingler, President of Carpigiani North America, said the move responds to growing demand for fresh American-style ice cream and gelato, especially for hand-packed takeaway and delivery. She noted that restaurants and foodservice operators are looking for new profit centres and that Carpigiani can offer simple, cost-effective solutions plus training.

Federico Tassi, CEO of Carpigiani Group, said the investment brings state-of-the-art technology that allows efficient production of high-quality batch freezers for American-style ice cream, along with soft serve machines. New US-built models were due for release that autumn for high-volume quick service, independents and key accounts, with a preview at NAFEM in Orlando, Florida, on 26 to 29 August.
