Gelato Festival Germany Final in Berlin’s Alexanderplatz
Berlin became a gelato capital for two days on 1 and 2 June 2019, when the German final of Gelato Festival Europe took over Alexanderplatz.
Sixteen finalists
Registration drew a flood of applications within hours of opening. Specialist juries then ran several semifinal rounds over three months and picked the 16 best gelatieri of 2019. Each presented their best flavour, made fresh on site at Alexanderplatz.
Tasting and voting
Visitors bought tickets at the Gelato Village information desk or through the Gelato Festival ticket page. A ticket gave 16 samples and a vote for a favourite. The festival opened from 12:00 to 20:00 on both Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June 2019.
